FMIPA UI Promotes Its Flagship Programs at the International Event Lab Indonesia 2026

The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at Universitas Indonesia (FMIPA UI), through its Department of Chemistry, is strengthening its position as a globally recognized chemistry education institution through its participation in an exhibition organized by the Indonesian Chemical Society and Lab Indonesia on April 15, 2026, at ICE BSD City.

At this event, the Department of Chemistry at FMIPA UI actively promoted its programs and initiatives the International Special Class (KKI) Undergraduate (Bachelor’s) Program serta Postgraduate programs (Master’s and Doctoral degrees) as a strategic choice for young generations who aspire to pursue chemistry education with global standards and a future-oriented research focus.

The International Special Class (KKI) Chemistry Program at Universitas Indonesia is designed to provide an international academic experience through a globally standardized curriculum, the use of English as the medium of instruction, and opportunities for collaboration with international partners. This program serves as a solution for high school graduates who aim to enhance their competitiveness at the international level from an early stage.

The Head of the Department of Chemistry at FMIPA UI, Munawar Khalil, S.Si., M.Eng.Sc., Ph.D., emphasized the importance of internationalizing education as an investment for the future. According to him/her, the KKI Chemistry Program at UI is the right choice for high school graduates who seek to gain an internationally recognized academic experience.

“The KKI Chemistry Program at UI is a strategic step to equip students with internationally recognized academic experience from an early stage,” he/she stated.

On the other hand, the Postgraduate Chemistry Program at FMIPA UI serves as a center for the development of leading research focused on strategic issues such as energy, health, and the environment. With an applied and collaborative research approach, this program aims to produce researchers who are capable of making meaningful contributions to national development.

The Head of the Master’s and Doctoral (S2 and S3) Chemistry Study Program at FMIPA UI, Bayu Ardiansah, S.Si., M.Si., D.Sc., stated that the postgraduate Chemistry program at UI focuses on strategic issues such as energy, health, and the environment. The program is designed to produce outstanding researchers who are capable of providing practical solutions to various national challenges.

“We prepare outstanding researchers who are capable of delivering real solutions to issues in energy, health, and the environment,” said Bayu.

On the same occasion, Dr. Isnaini Rahmawati, S.Si., M.Si., who attended the event as the Secretary of the Indonesian Chemical Society (HKI) Jakarta Branch, emphasized the importance of collaboration among universities, professional chemical associations, and external partners. He/she stated that such synergy can strengthen academic and research cooperation, while also making chemistry more relevant and impactful for society.

“Collaboration between academics, professional organizations, and external partners is key to strengthening research and its impact on society,” said Dr. Isna.

Through its participation in this event, FMIPA UI not only introduced its flagship programs but also opened up broader opportunities for collaboration with various stakeholders. At the same time, it invited prospective students to become part of a future generation of scientists who are innovative, competitive, and committed to contributing to the nation’s sustainability.
