FMIPA UI Accompanies 20 UI Delegates in the 2026 ON MIPA-PT Regional Selection

The National Mathematics and Natural Sciences Olympiad for Higher Education (ON MIPA-PT) 2026 has entered the Regional Selection stage. At this stage, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Indonesia (FMIPA UI), as the implementing body for the Universitas Indonesia delegation selection, facilitated the online examination held on Tuesday–Wednesday (May 5–6, 2026) at Computer Laboratory 301, Multidisciplinary Research Building, FMIPA UI, Depok. A total of 20 UI students participated in the selection, consisting of 16 students from FMIPA UI and four students from the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Indonesia.

The participants were divided into four competition fields: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, with each field consisting of five students.

In its implementation, the regional selection of ON MIPA-PT 2026 applied strict supervision in accordance with the regulations of the Directorate of Learning and Student Affairs, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology. Each participant was required to use two surveillance cameras during the exam: a front-facing camera showing the participant’s face and a side camera showing the computer screen and the participant’s desk area.

In addition, FMIPA UI also prepared an additional camera in the examination room to monitor all participants’ activities. Supervision was carried out online through UI operators connected via Zoom alongside the jury team and national supervisors.

This monitoring system was implemented to maintain the integrity and credibility of the selection process. If any indication of violation or cheating was found during the exam, participants could be immediately disqualified on the spot.

The Dean of FMIPA UI, Prof. Dr. Tito Latif Indra, M.Si., said, “As the organizer of the Regional Selection for ON MIPA-PT 2026 for Universitas Indonesia, FMIPA UI is committed to ensuring that the selection process runs in accordance with national regulations while upholding integrity, objectivity, and academic culture.”

He emphasized that this activity has strategic significance in the development of science talent in higher education.

“Through this selection, we hope to produce a new generation of outstanding, competitive, and integrity-driven young scientists who are able to contribute to the advancement of science and the nation,” he added.

Universitas Indonesia is included in Region III (DKI Jakarta) for the ON MIPA-PT 2026 competition. From this regional selection stage, the top 65 students in each field will be selected to advance to the national stage.

The results of the regional selection are scheduled to be announced in the third week of May 2026. Participants who pass will proceed to the national stage of ON MIPA-PT 2026 at Universitas Airlangga, held on June 8–12, 2026.

Previously, FMIPA UI also held the university-level selection on April 11, 2026, conducted offline at the Auditorium of the Multidisciplinary Research Laboratory Building, FMIPA UI, Depok. In this selection, 118 students from various faculties within Universitas Indonesia competed to become university delegates for the regional stage.

After being declared as successful candidates, the participants underwent intensive training with supervising lecturers according to their respective fields. The Mathematics field was supervised by Ryan Kasyfil Aziz, S.Si., M.Si., Ph.D. and team; the Physics field by Dr. Adam Badra Cahaya and team; the Chemistry field by Dewangga Oky Bagus Apriandanu, S.Si., M.Si., Ph.D. and team; and the Biology field by Tety Maryenti, S.P., M.Sc., Ph.D. and team.

Dr. Yulia Mariana Tesa Ayudia Putri, S.Si., M.Si., Assistant Manager for Student Achievement Development and Student Ecosystem at FMIPA UI, said that the training was conducted to help students prepare for the regional selection stage.

“Through this mentoring program, students receive both academic reinforcement and technical assistance in preparing for the online selection. The goal is for participants to perform more confidently and achieve the best possible results,” said Dr. Tesa.

In addition to intensive training, FMIPA UI also facilitated a Technical Meeting (TM) on April 30, 2026, and held a Try Out (TO) on May 4, 2026. These activities were aimed at helping students adapt to the online selection system while also measuring participants’ readiness before the competition took place.

Through continuous training and mentoring, FMIPA UI hopes that the Universitas Indonesia delegation can perform optimally at ON MIPA-PT 2026, while also gaining valuable preparation for other competitions, including at the international level. This participation is expected not only to produce the best achievements, but also to strengthen a culture of academic excellence and integrity within Universitas Indonesia.
