The Medical Physics and Biophysics Laboratory (LFMB) of the Department of Physics, FMIPA UI and the Nuclear Physics and Biophysics Expertise Group (KKFNB) FMIPA ITB, held a free Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology Aircraft Suitability Test and radiation shield leak test due to the Earthquake disaster at several hospitals in West Nusa Tenggara.
The activity, which was held on August 12-17, was a community service program between FMIPA UI and FMIPA ITB, which was run by Dr. Supriyanto A.P. as the head of the LFMB Department of Physics, FMIPA UI, along with 2 examiners qualified as LFMB UI, and Dr. Freddy Haryanto from KKFNB ITB and staff.
Through this activity, the two MIPA faculties intend to determine the effects of earthquake natural disasters on the safety of nuclear radiation facilities for health in several government and private hospitals that provide BPJS services.
Supriyanto explained that the output of this program is that aircraft that are airworthy will receive a reliable certificate from the National Nuclear Energy Regulatory Agency (BAPETEN).
He further explained that this activity was funded internally by LFMB UI and the ITB community service program for the 2019 budget year.
