Depok, October 15, 2025 – Along with the rapid advancement of science and technology, collaboration among universities has become a key driver in promoting research progress and strengthening higher education in Indonesia. In this spirit, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Indonesia (FMIPA UI), signed a cooperation agreement with the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) of UIN Walisongo Semarang.
The signing ceremony took place on Wednesday (October 15) at the main meeting room of the FMIPA UI administration center, Universitas Indonesia Campus, Depok. The agreement was signed directly by the Dean of FMIPA UI, Prof. Dede Djuhana, Ph.D., and the Dean of FST UIN Walisongo, Prof. Dr. Musahafi, M.Ag.
This collaboration covers various aspects of the university’s tridharma, including education, joint research, community service, training, and the implementation of the Merdeka Belajar–Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program. It also opens opportunities for scientific activities such as seminars, studies, workshops, and the development of competencies for lecturers and educational staff.
“This collaboration is a strategic step to strengthen the role of universities in producing knowledge that is relevant and impactful for society,” said Prof. Dede Djuhana.

A similar sentiment was expressed by Prof. Musahafi, who viewed this collaboration as an important momentum to enhance institutional capacity.
“Through this synergy, we aim to promote collaborative research and more structured scientific development, while also broadening the academic experiences of both lecturers and students,” he said.
The cooperation agreement is valid for five years from the date of signing and is expected to strengthen the research and education ecosystem in the fields of mathematics and science, both within FMIPA UI and FST UIN Walisongo.
The event was also attended by the leadership from both faculties. Representing FMIPA UI were Dr. Lukmanda Evan Lubis, M.Si., F.Med. (Manager for Partnerships, Ventures, and Alumni Relations), Rika Tri Yunarti, S.Si., M.Eng., Ph.D. (Education Manager), and Dr. Dipo Aldila, S.Si., M.Si.
Meanwhile, representing FST UIN Walisongo were Dr. Hamdan Hadi Kusuma, M.Sc. (Vice Dean for Academic and Institutional Affairs), Dr. Atik Rahmawati, M.Si. (Vice Dean for General Administration, Planning, and Finance), and Dr. Ervin Tri Suryandari, M.Si. (Vice Dean for Student Affairs and Collaboration).
This collaboration is part of a joint effort to strengthen the role of academics in addressing global challenges through science-based innovation and inter-institutional collaboration.
