FMIPA UI Attends the Signing of the MoU between UI and General Electric

Manager of Research and Community Service (RPM) FMIPA UI, Dr. Djoko Triyono on Monday (13/04/2015) attended a Public Lecture featuring resource person, Dr. Handry Santiago, CEO of GE Indonesia. The Public Lecture held at the UI Convention Hall had the theme “Indonesia and The Global Talent Competitiveness”, in addition to being attended by leaders of the University of Indonesia and heads of faculties, also attended by lecturers and students in the UI environment.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Prof. Dr. Ir. Muhammad Anis, M.Met., who acts as the Rector of the University of Indonesia and Dr. Handry Santiago, as the CEO of GE Indonesia. The collaboration between UI and GE includes human resource development for both students and teaching staff in the form of scholarships, internship opportunities, opportunities to work at GE companies or its subsidiaries spread across Indonesia, as well as joint research in the fields of science and technology, especially biomass gasification and coal gasification.

Furthermore, the Manager of RPM FMIPA UI, Dr. Djoko Triyono enthusiastically welcomed the collaboration between UI and GE, “With this memorandum of understanding, it provides an opportunity for FMIPA UI as one of the Faculties at UI based on science and technology to be able to develop deeper research in the field of science, collaborating with GE as one of the largest engineering companies in Indonesia.”
