Another proud achievement has been attained by the education staff of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Indonesia (FMIPA UI). Dian Wulan Hastuti, S.Si., M.Si., from the Department of Physics, succeeded in winning Third Place in the Data Analytics competition (Clash of Excel) organized by the Faculty of Computer Science (Fasilkom) UI.
Dian’s achievement adds to her growing list of accomplishments. In 2023, she won Second Place in the “UI Innovative Education Staff” competition organized by the UI Directorate of Human Resources.
“At first, I only tried using some basic data because the preparation time was sudden, but it turned out I could make it to the finals and win Third Place. I hope this achievement can motivate other education staff to continue developing their digital and data analysis skills,” said Dian to the FMIPA UI Public Relations team.
The competition tested participants’ ability to process data using Microsoft Excel, including the application of formulas, pivot tables, lookup functions, and statistical data processing. The preliminary round took place on 3 November 2025 at the Computer Laboratory of the Health Sciences Cluster (RIK) and was attended by 37 participants from various faculties and directorates at UI. The top five participants then advanced to the final round on 4 November 2025 in Lab A302, 3rd floor of the New Fasilkom UI Building.
In the final round, participants were not only required to process data but also to prepare and present their analysis results before three judges. Dian admitted that her preparation was minimal because the competition information came suddenly.
Clash of Excel is part of the series of events celebrating the 39th Anniversary of Fasilkom UI and emphasizes creativity, accuracy, and independent data analysis skills. The announcement of the competition winners is scheduled for 18 November 2025 at the Dr. Indro Suwandi Auditorium, New Fasilkom UI Building.
Dian Wulan Hastuti’s achievement also serves as an inspiration for other education staff to continue honing their digital skills and fostering innovation within the university environment.
