FMIPA UI Graduates’ Enthusiasm Shines at the Final Rehearsal in Balairung

Depok, September 10, 2025 — Balairung Universitas Indonesia (UI) was filled today with the enthusiasm and excitement of graduates. A total of 649 graduates from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) participated in the final rehearsal for the UI Graduation Ceremony for the Even Semester of the 2024/2025 Academic Year, on Wednesday (September 10).

This activity is part of the series of UI graduation ceremonies scheduled to take place over six days, from September 8 to 13, 2025. All graduation activities, including the final rehearsal and the main ceremony, are held centrally at Balairung UI. The final rehearsal was conducted in five sessions from September 8 to 10, while the main graduation ceremony will take place from September 11 to 13, 2025. The graduation procession for FMIPA UI graduates is scheduled for Saturday, September 13, 2025.

This year, FMIPA UI will graduate a total of 685 students, consisting of 567 undergraduate graduates, 107 master’s graduates, and 11 doctoral graduates. During the final rehearsal, the graduates appeared enthusiastic and orderly, following the organizers’ instructions, complete with their gowns and other graduation attire.

The main procession during the final rehearsal included a congratulatory session and a photo session of the graduates with the UI Rector, Prof. Dr. Ir. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU, and the Dean of FMIPA UI, Prof. Dede Djuhana, Ph.D. One by one, the graduates approached the stage to participate in the session.

Prof. Dede appreciated the graduates’ enthusiasm during the final rehearsal, which he said was not merely symbolic but reflected their readiness to face post-university challenges. He also expressed his happiness and pride in seeing his graduates participate with such energy and spirit.

“I see an extraordinary enthusiasm from the FMIPA UI graduates, which signifies their readiness to step into the next stage of life with full responsibility, and their pride in being part of UI,” said Prof. Dede, speaking directly to the FMIPA UI Public Relations team at Balairung.

He also hopes that the knowledge gained during their studies at FMIPA UI will serve as a strong foundation as they embark on their future professional and social lives.

“Hopefully, their scientific knowledge will become a valuable asset to contribute to society and the nation,” he concluded.

At the upcoming graduation ceremony, FMIPA UI will present two graduate representatives to receive the symbolic diploma tube: Yazid Al Muntashir and Zefanya Cellina Aurawicona, S.Si., from the Bachelor of Geography program. In addition, the top graduate representatives from each degree level will be announced based on the highest Cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA).

This final rehearsal served as a reflective and meaningful moment for the graduates, strengthening their sense of togetherness and pride as members of the UI academic community who are about to embark on a new phase as alumni
