On Tuesday (November 28th), the Department of Geography, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Indonesia (UI), in collaboration with the Southeast Asian Geography Association (SEAGA), held the first SEAGA conference at UI.
SEAGA is a forum for geographers and people interested inspatial perspectivesto exchange experiences regarding research and knowledge regarding teaching methods.
This association was first formed in 1990 in Brunei Darussalam.
Carrying a theme Geography for Global Understanding “Sustainable Changes in Environment, Society and People”, SEAGA 2017 menggelar beberapa rangkaian acara, diantaranya, Concurrent Panel, Exhibition, Dialdice Microsystem Special Demo Tools for Real Time GIS on Internet of Things Ecosystem, Batik Processing Demo by Batik and Craft, dan TOPCON Special Demo Tools for Terrestrial Surveying.
Dra. Widyawati MSP, as the 2017 SEAGA Project Officer, hopes that the SEAGA conference at the University of Indonesia will increase motivation, especially for the UI Geography academic community, in conducting reviews or discussions between libraries.
Echoing Widyawati, Dr. Ir. Nurwadjedi, M.Sc., Deputy for Thematic Geospatial Information, who also served as a keynote speaker, expressed his hope that the University of Indonesia would produce skilled human resources in the geospatial field.
