On Wednesday, August 2, 2017, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Indonesia (UI) held a capacity building program on Belitung Island. The three-day event aimed to strengthen the adaptability of individuals and organizations to environmental changes, as well as foster unity and problem-solving skills.

In his remarks, the Dean of FMIPA UI, Dr.rer.nat. Abdul Haris said that this activity needs to be carried out to build synergy among all members of the FMIPA UI community, both teaching staff and employees, so that they can build better cooperation withinthe teamand foster a high sense of solidarity. Abdul Haris also conveyed several advances and achievements of FMIPA UI, including the addition of study programs at FMIPA UI, namely the actuarial study program which will be under the auspices of the mathematics department, the increasing number of professors, and the improvement and enhancement of facilities at FMIPA UI. Abdul Haris hopes that by holding this Capacity Building activity, the entire FMIPA UI community can create an academic climate that is full of discipline.
