Depok, Friday (9/2) FMIPA UI also participated in enlivening the peak of the series of activities for UI’s 68th anniversary by holding a carnival activity which took place along the UI Rotunda roundabout route.
The FMIPA UI contingent consisting of leaders, employees and students also competed to present their best performances in the arts and culture parade in accordance with the theme of UI’s anniversary this time, namely “UI for Indonesia” by presenting Betawi culture.

In front of the University of Indonesia leadership, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) UI contingent presented crocodile bread to the UI Rector and Dean. A collaboration of music, ondel-ondel dance, and pantun also enlivened the carnival atmosphere. The excitement was further enhanced by the colorful costumes characteristic of this Betawi tradition.

Even though the FMIPA UI contingent was not chosen as the carnival champion in the peak series of UI’s 68th anniversary activities this year, the FMIPA UI leadership still appreciated the efforts and hard work of its contingent.
“I really appreciate it. I think both the employees and students have done their best to show their best. The important thing is to stay united,” said Dr. Rokhmatuloh, M.Eng., Deputy Dean for Field II of FMIPA UI.
