FMIPA UI Ready to Enhance National Healthcare Services Through Specialized Medical Physicist Certification

The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Indonesia (FMIPA UI), through the Center for Medical Physics and Biophysics (CMPB UI), officially awarded competency certificates to 18 graduates of the specialized medical physicist residency program. The event, titled “Appreciation Dinner and Clinically Qualified Medical Physicist (CQMP) Certificate Awarding,” was held on Sunday (23/11) at the Novotel Hotel in Solo, in collaboration with the Indonesian Medical Physicists Alliance (AFISMI).

The event was attended by several institutional leaders, including the Dean of FMIPA UI, Prof. Dede Djuhana, Ph.D.; the Head of CMPB UI, Prof. Supriyanto Ardjo Pawiro, Ph.D.; the Lead Country Coordinator of the IAEA Project RAS6101, Prof. Ruijie Yang; IAEA Expert Dr. Georgia Loreti; the Chair of the Biomedical Engineering Council and Secretary-General of AFISMI, Indah Lesatriningsih, M.Si.; as well as the Chair of AFISMI, Dr. Lukmanda Evan Lubis, M.Si., F.Med.

In his remarks, Prof. Dede Djuhana emphasized that this event is not merely a form of individual appreciation, but also a step toward strengthening the foundation of medical physics in Indonesia. He expressed his appreciation for the dedication and competence of the residency graduates who are ready to face the challenges of modern medicine, while also reaffirming the crucial role of medical physicists in improving the quality of national healthcare services.

“Make this achievement and recognition something that strengthens the foundation of medical physics in Indonesia. You, the residency graduates, have demonstrated exceptional dedication and competence in facing the challenges of modern medicine,” said Prof. Dede.

Prof. Supriyanto Ardjo Pawiro added that the awarding of these certificates is more than just a formality. The certificates serve as official recognition of the graduates’ fulfillment of rigorous clinical, academic, and professional standards. With this, the graduates are now formally recognized as Specialized Medical Physicists who are ready to make meaningful contributions to healthcare services in Indonesia.

“This is an official acknowledgment of the fulfillment of strict clinical, academic, and professional standards. The graduates are now formally recognized as Specialized Medical Physicists who are ready to contribute to national healthcare services,” he said.

Competency certificates were awarded to 18 residency graduates, including Dr. Lukmanda Evan Lubis, the only graduate specializing in Diagnostic Radiology. The other graduates came from the Radiotherapy specialization, namely Ahmad Syafi’i, Irma Juwita Ayuning Tias, Firyal Dhiyaul Haqqi, Ahmad Zaki Dzulfikar, Riyan Muharam, M.Si., Ummu Mar’atu Zahro, M.Si., Fitria Penta Krisna, M.Si., Mohammad Zamakhsari Alhamid, M.Si., Eddy Kurniawan, M.Si., Didin, M.Si., Sonak Tioria Tarigan, M.Si., Annisa Rahma Fauzia, M.Si., Irhas, M.Si., Vivin Fashihatil Harfiyyah, M.Si., Jhon Hadearon Saragih, M.Si., and Mardon Limena, M.Si. The certificates were presented directly by the Dean of FMIPA UI.

The event concluded with a group photo session as a symbol of collaboration between FMIPA UI, the IAEA, and AFISMI, while also reaffirming the university’s commitment to continuously advancing medical physics in Indonesia.

This activity is part of the series of events for the International Workshop on Certification of Medical Physicists, held from 24–28 November 2025. The workshop brought together IAEA experts from the Asia-Pacific region, aiming to strengthen the capacity of medical physicists at the regional level and to promote internationally consistent certification standards.
