FMIPA UI – University of Oxford Discuss Joint Research Project

As part of joint research on medical linear accelerators, the Department of Physics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Indonesia, welcomed Dr. Suzie Sheehy and Dr. Muhammad Firman Kasim from the Department of Physics, University of Oxford, from January 10-12, 2019, at the Faculty’s Dean’s Office Building, Depok.

Dr. Techn. Djoko Triyono, Vice Dean for Education, Research, and Student Affairs, warmly welcomed the two University of Oxford delegates.

On Thursday, the team discussed the joint research project and planning a workshop to be held in early July 2019, said Supriyanto Pawiro, PhD, accompanied by Prof. Dr. Djarwani Soeharso.

The second day continued with a visit to the RSCM Radiotherapy Installation and MRCCC.

The event concluded with document finalization and public lectures entitled “Particle Accelerator: From Cancer Therapy to the Big Bang” and “Machine Learning for Plasma and Medical Physics” by Dr. Suzie and Dr. Firman, respectively.
