FMIPA UI heldthe International Symposium on Current Progress in Functional Materials (ISCPFM) 2017for the second time . This international symposium took place on November 8-9, 2017 at The Sakala Resort, Tanjung Benoa, Bali.
Carrying the theme “Functional Materials for Energy and Environment Applications“, this event was attended by around 100 participants who presented research results according to their research topics. The event began with remarks from the chief executive officer Dr. Djoko Triyono and was then opened by Prof. Rosari Saleh (Vice Rector for Research and Innovation, University of Indonesia). In his remarks, Prof. Rosari Saleh said that “This international symposium is a forum for researchers to be able to contribute to the development of the field of materials science, especiallyfunctional materials.”
Present as speakers were Prof. Shu Yin (Tohoku University, Japan), Prof. Shingjiang Jessie Lue (Chang Gung University, Taiwan) and Prof. Kiyoshi Kanie (Tohoku University, Japan), as well asinvited speakersProf. Suminar Pratapa from the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology, Surabaya. The presence of these speakers is expected to share experiences and inspire participants to develop research in the field offunctional materialsapplied to alternative energy sources and environmental conservation.

The event also saw the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoA) for research collaboration between Prof. Rosari Saleh of the University of Indonesia and Prof. Shingjiang Jessie Lue of Chang Gung University, Taiwan. The signing of this agreement aims to utilize research facilities and resources for the advancement of both institutions.
