LOGIKA UI 2020 Will Feature New Competitions

LOGIKA (Mathematics Competitions and Activities) UI 2020 will soon be held. This 16th event is one of the major work programs of the Mathematics Department Student Association (HMDM) FMIPA UI 2019.

As its acronym suggests, LOGIKA UI 2020 is divided into two major events: the Mathematics Competition and the Mathematics Activities.

The Mathematics Activities referred to here are Mathcademy, a mathematics olympiad training program aimed at high school students and their equivalents.

In addition, there is Logitalks, a seminar event for the general public. Logitalks is divided into two series: a national seminar and a motivational show.

The National Seminar at LOGIKA UI 2020 will cover two themes: actuarial science and data science. The motivational show, on the other hand, aims to provide the general public with insight into the importance of mathematics.

For the Mathematics Competition, this year LOGIKA UI 2020 is opening five competition categories, one of which is new.

These categories are the Mathematics Individual Competition (MIC), Mathematics Team Competition (MTC), Statistics Team Competition (STC), Paper Competition, and the newest, the Actuarial Infographic Competition (AIC).

The MIC and MTC target participants for high school students or equivalent, while the STC and Paper Competition target participants for college students, and the AIC targets the general public aged 17 to 22.

As previously mentioned, the Actuarial Infographic Competition (AIC) is the newest competition to be featured at LOGIKA UI 2020. The AIC is an infographic competition that showcases the applications of actuarial science, particularly in the development of insurance products.

AIC participants will submit their infographics in poster form online. Registration for the AIC opened on October 15, 2019, and will close on November 15, 2019.

Registration is open to students and university students throughout Indonesia. Registration information and information about logic can be accessed through the website logisui.com or by following the social media channels Instagram (@logikaui2020), OA Line (@logikaui), Twitter (@logikaui2020), and Facebook (/logikaui) for more information.

LOGIKA UI 2020 Project Officer, Dimas Aditya Gumilang (S1 Actuarial Science, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, UI 2017), emphasized the numerous benefits participants will gain from participating in this competition.

Dimas said that both the competition and the activities will provide participants with experience and knowledge, as well as the opportunity to win prizes totaling tens of millions of rupiah.

“Yes, in essence, through this activity, we want to provide a good experience for students, from high school students to university students throughout Indonesia,” said Dimas.
