The National Achievement Center (Puspresnas), Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) announced the winners of the 2022 National Mathematics and Natural Sciences Olympiad (ON-MIPA) live at the peak of the 2022 ON-MIPA event at the Samantha Krida building and the Pertamina Sports Center (GOR) of Brawijaya University, Malang, East Java on September 22, 2022.
The determination of the winners of the Olympiad entitled “Strengthening the Role of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (MIPA) in Realizing Young Scientists towards Golden Indonesia 2045” is stated in the Decree of the Head of the Indonesian Talent Development Center Number 0682/J7.1/PN.01/2022.
In the most prestigious national competition among students, the University of Indonesia (UI) contingent won a total of 13 medals consisting of four gold medals, three silver medals, and 6 bronze medals.
The UI contingent that won the gold medal were M. Shiqo Filla (Mathematics – FMIPA), Azzam Labib Hakim (Mathematics – Faculty of Computer Science), M. ‘Anin Nabail ‘Azhiim (Physics – FMIPA), and Jesaya Christian Ido Raja Situmeang (Physics – FMIPA).
Furthermore, the UI contingent that won silver medals were Agustinus Bravy Tetuko Ompusunggu (Mathematics – FMIPA), Faris Ramadhantyo Darmawan (Physics – FMIPA), and Alfian Gunawan (Physics – FMIPA).
Meanwhile, the bronze medals were won by Jerry (Mathematics – FMIPA), Jovan Alfian Djaja (Physics – FMIPA), Natanael Tama Hasaya (Chemistry – FMIPA), Muhammad Habiburohman (Chemistry – FMIPA), Jonathan Evan (Chemistry – FMIPA), and Hanif Al Husaini (Biology – FMIPA).
All these medals earned UI the second place in the 2022 ON-MIPA competition.
Previously, at the same location, participants had gone through a series of national selection activities on September 19-22, 2022. This national-level selection was attended by the five best students in each competition category, namely Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology at the regional level.
Dean of FMIPA UI Dede Djuhana, Ph.D., along with his staff, namely Vice Dean for Education, Research and Student Affairs Dr.rer.nat. Budiawan, Vice Dean for Venture Resources and General Administration Dr. Tito Latif Indra, M.Si., and Student Affairs Manager Dr. Dewi Susiloningtyas, M.Si. were also present and witnessed the announcement of the 2022 ON-MIPA winners.
The Dean expressed his support and appreciation for the team’s hard work and achievements, both from the contingent and the mentors. He stated that the team’s preparations were sufficiently thorough to compete in the 2022 ON-MIPA competition.
“Thank you to the contingent for their hard work, and to our fellow supervising lecturers for their support in preparing the team as best as possible from the initial stage until now. We should be grateful for and appreciate this achievement, this is our collective hard work,” said the Dean.
In addition to the Dean, the supervising lecturers were also present to accompany the UI contingent, namely Arman Haqqi Anna Zili, M.Si. (Physics Supervisor), Dr.Eng.Sc Adam Badra Cahaya, M.Si. (Physics Supervisor), Dr. Bayu Ardiansah, S.Si, M.Si (Chemistry Supervisor), and Dr. Retno Lestari, M.Si. (Biology Supervisor).
