In order to improve the academic abilities and insight of students in the field of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, the Directorate of Student Affairs, Directorate General of Learning and Student Affairs, Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education again held the National Olympiad of Mathematics and Natural Sciences for Higher Education (ON MIPA-PT) in 2018.

Today, and tomorrow (21-22) March, a total of 28 FMIPA UI students will take part in the 2018 ON MIPA-PT regional selection at the UHAMKA Campus, East Jakarta, accompanied by Dr. Tito Latif Indra as Student Affairs Manager and Dr. Retno Lestari, a biology lecturer at FMIPA UI.

During the two days, they will compete with ON MIPA-PT 2018 participants from all over Indonesia to demonstrate their academic abilities in the fields of Basic Mathematics, Biology, Physics, and Chemistry.

The regional selection is the second stage of the selection process, conducted simultaneously by the Coordination of Private Higher Education Institutions (Kopertis) in 14 (fourteen) regions. FMIPA UI itself is affiliated with Kopertis III (Jabodetabek and Banten).

Previously, FMIPA UI students participated in the first phase of the selection process, which was held by UI on March 6-9, 2018. They competed closely at the department level at FMIPA UI. From this first phase, the seven best students from each field were selected.

As a briefing, Tuesday (20/3) in Meeting Room A of the Dean’s Building, the Dean of FMIPA UI Dr. rer. nat. Abdul Haris met face to face with his students who will take part in the 2018 ON MIPA-PT selection stage II. He motivated and encouraged his students to prepare themselves well, be optimistic and continue to pray. Haris is optimistic that his students will achieve success in the 2018 ON MIPA-PT event.

Students who qualify with first and second place at the regional level will have the opportunity to continue the competition at the national level (stage III selection). In stage III, participants will compete for gold, silver, bronze medals, andhonorable mentions .

And these are the names of the FMIPA UI students in the 2018 National Mathematics and Natural Sciences Olympiad for Higher Education (ON MIPA-PT).
