The series of University of Indonesia Graduation Ceremonies from vocational level to doctoral program for the odd semester of the 2022/2023 Academic Year has just finished. UI graduation for Professional, Specialist, Masters, and Doctoral Programs was held on Friday (10/3), while graduation for Bachelor and Vocational Programs was held the day after, namely on Saturday (11/3) morning. UI Chancellor Prof. Ari Kuncoro, S.E, M.A, Ph.D. led the ceremony.
This time, the series of graduation activities were carried out entirely face-to-face at Balairung, UI Depok Campus, a building that is historically identical to UI graduation activities. Previously, during the pandemic, UI held graduation ceremonies online, hybrid, and most recently in multiple locations across all faculties, Balai Purnomo, and the RIK Building, Depok.
This semester, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) UI graduated 389 students consisting of 331 undergraduate graduates, 47 master’s graduates, and 11 doctoral graduates. Of all the graduates, 91 of them succeeded in achieving cum laude predicate.
From the undergraduate level, 76 graduates succeeded in achieving cum laude predicate, while from the master’s level, 13 graduates received cum laude predicate, and at the doctoral level, 2 graduates received cum laude predicate.
In addition, in the odd semester of the 2022/2023 academic year, UI also awarded the summa cum laude predicate, which is the highest honors for graduates who achieve a Cumulative Achievement Index (IPK) of 3.95 – 4.00 through a study period of no more than 8 semesters for undergraduate programs, no more than 4 semesters for master’s programs, and no more than 7 semesters for doctoral programs without taking leave during college and without repeating courses.
And for graduates of postgraduate programs, the summa cum laude predicate is achieved with other provisions, namely having extraordinary academic achievements based on the assessment of the examining team for graduates of the master’s program, and having extraordinary academic achievements based on the assessment of the promoter team and the examining team for doctoral graduates.
The summa cum laude predicate for FMIPA UI graduates was awarded to Irena Khatrin from the master of chemistry study program with a GPA of 3.95. She is the only FMIPA UI graduate to achieve the predicate.
Dede Djuhana, Ph.D. congratulated and wished success to the graduates. He was also proud of the achievements of the graduates. Moreover, said the Dean, this was the first time that UI’s graduation ceremony was held fully face-to-face. So he considered this valuable graduation momentum to be something the graduates should be grateful for.
“Congratulations and success to all FMIPA UI graduates, Alhamdulillah, this graduation we can feel this momentum together face to face, we must be grateful, hopefully the graduates will not be satisfied quickly but must be more enthusiastic to implement their respective knowledge wherever they are to contribute to the nation “. said Dean Dede.
