Four researchers from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Indonesia (UI), have been selected as recipients of the Research and Innovation Program for Advanced Indonesia, Wave 10 Competition, organized by the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN). The program aims to promote innovative research and tangible contributions to the advancement of science and technology in Indonesia.
The four researchers are pursuing studies that focus on high-impact innovation across various scientific fields. Anawati, M.Sc., Ph.D., is researching the in-situ incorporation of nanoparticles into plasma electrolytic oxidation layers of zirconium alloys to enhance the oxidation resistance of nuclear fuel cladding materials. Dr.Eng. Anjar Taufik Hidayat, M.Sc., is studying organic antisolvent additives to improve the performance and stability of perovskite solar cells based on carbon electrodes. Munawar Khalil, S.Si., M.Eng.Sc., Ph.D., focuses on optimizing nitrogen doping in Ti₃C₂Tₓ MXene as a catalyst for carbon dioxide electroreduction reactions, while Dr. Retno Lestari, S.Si., M.Si., is developing multi-omics data analysis for the diagnosis and prognosis of cervical cancer using bioinformatics and natural language processing approaches.
The program is awarded to active and innovative researchers across Indonesia. In Wave 10, a total of 489 researchers from various institutions were selected, reflecting the high level of competition and the quality of the research proposals submitted.
The Dean of FMIPA UI, Prof. Dr. Tito Latif Indra, M.Si., stated, “The success of the four FMIPA UI researchers demonstrates that high-quality and innovative research can emerge from an academic environment. We hope this achievement will not only enhance the reputation of FMIPA UI, but also make a tangible contribution to the advancement of science and technology in Indonesia.”
This award is stipulated in the Decree of the Deputy for Research and Innovation Facilitation of BRIN Number 105/II.7/HK/2025 concerning the Recipients of the Research and Innovation Program for Advanced Indonesia, Wave 10 Competition, which was issued on 12 December 2025.
