First Day of UTBK 2026 at FMIPA UI Runs Smoothly and Orderly

Depok — The first day of the Computer-Based Written Examination (UTBK) at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Indonesia (FMIPA UI), was conducted smoothly and in an orderly manner. FMIPA UI once again served as one of the test locations at Universitas Indonesia, Depok, with exam rooms distributed across two buildings.

As in previous years, the UTBK at FMIPA UI was conducted using four computer-based laboratory rooms, located in the Multidisciplinary Research Laboratory Building and the Department of Geography Building.

Based on observations by the FMIPA UI public relations team on site, the atmosphere had been orderly since early morning. Participants began arriving as early as 05:00 AM WIB, some accompanied by their parents or family members. The early arrival was intended to anticipate delays, considering that Universitas Indonesia has 26 UTBK locations with a capacity of more than 1,500 participants per session.

Upon arrival at the venue, participants checked the name lists prepared by the committee to confirm their assigned exam session. At around 06:15 AM WIB, participants proceeded to the registration and document verification stage, before being directed to a waiting room to receive instructions from the supervisors. Subsequently, at 06:45 AM WIB, participants began entering the examination rooms for final preparation before the test commenced.

Overall, the first day of the UTBK proceeded without any significant issues. A similar situation was observed in the afternoon session, where participants also arrived early. The second session on the first day concluded at around 04:30 PM WIB.

The examination room capacity at FMIPA UI includes Computer Laboratory 301 in the Multidisciplinary Research Laboratory Building with 60 participants, Computer Laboratory 305 with 20 participants, and in the Department of Geography Building, Computer Laboratory 101 with 30 participants and Computer Laboratory 305 with 20 participants. In total, FMIPA UI accommodates 131 participants per session, with two sessions held each day, namely the morning and afternoon sessions.

The UTBK Location Coordinator at FMIPA UI, Dra. Astrid Damayanti, M.Si., stated that all preparations had been carried out optimally, including a trial conducted by the SNPMB Central Committee on April 1–2, 2026.

“All equipment and systems have been tested both nationally and internally, including ensuring that the operating system on each computer runs stably and meets the required standards,” she said.

In addition, FMIPA UI also held an internal briefing for exam supervisors on April 16, 2026, to ensure that all procedures were carried out in accordance with standards and to minimize potential technical issues.

The Deputy Location Coordinator, Awal Setiawan, S.Si., emphasized that the team also tightened security measures to prevent potential cheating during the examination.

“We strengthened supervision at all stages, from participants’ arrival to before entering the exam rooms, to ensure the integrity of the UTBK implementation,” he said.

He added that strict checks were carried out, including identity verification, document inspection, and screening of participants’ belongings and physical checks. The procedures were conducted in accordance with standard operating procedures while still ensuring participant comfort, including the separation of examiners based on gender.

Supervision was also tightened in the transit areas and around the examination rooms to maintain order during the test administration.

The UTBK at FMIPA UI is scheduled to take place from April 21 to May 2, 2026. The university hopes that the entire series of examinations will run smoothly until the final day.
