FMIPA UI Strengthens Cross-Generational Collaboration through SILAKBAR Kimia UI 2026

Depok, April 22, 2026 — The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Indonesia (FMIPA UI), through its Department of Chemistry, provided a platform for engagement among the academic community and alumni through the organization of the Silaturahmi Akbar (SILAKBAR) Kimia UI 2026, themed Chemistry Grand Fest & Halal Bihalal which was held on Saturday, April 18, 2026. The event served as a strategic platform to strengthen relationships among students, lecturers, educational staff, and alumni within the extended family of the Chemistry Department at FMIPA UI.

“We deeply appreciate the presence of our alumni. Sustained collaboration between alumni and the Department of Chemistry at FMIPA UI is a key factor in supporting the institution’s progress,” stated the Vice Dean for Resources, Ventura, and General Administration of FMIPA UI, Prof. Dr. Ivandini Tribidasari Anggraningrum, who is also a lecturer in the Physical Chemistry Research Group, during the event.

The event was initiated by the Departmental Student Association (HMD) of Chemistry UI in collaboration with the Chemistry UI Alumni Association (ILUNI), carrying the theme “One Chemistry, Many Stories: A Homecoming of Bonds”. The event was attended by hundreds of participants, including active students, lecturers, educational staff, and alumni from various cohorts.

The Chair of the SILAKBAR Kimia UI 2026 Organizing Committee, Sepdian Ratu (Class of 2023), stated that the event serves as a meeting space to strengthen intergenerational connections. “This event is expected to become a warm gathering space for the entire extended family of Chemistry at FMIPA UI to share stories and strengthen bonds,” he said.

In line with this, the Chair of the Departmental Student Association (HMD) of Chemistry UI, Venida Ramadhani, and the Chair of ILUNI Chemistry UI, Dr. Munasprianto Ramli, emphasized the importance of maintaining sustained connectivity among all members of the Chemistry UI community. Both view SILAKBAR as a cross-generational interaction platform that strengthens networks and brings positive impact to the institution’s development.

A number of retired FMIPA UI lecturers were also in attendance, including Prof. Dr. Endang Asijati, Prof. Dr. Ridla Bakri, Dr. Asmuwahyu Saptorahardjo, Dr. Riwandi Sihombing, and Ismunaryo Moenandar, M.Phil., further strengthening the sense of family within the event.

From the alumni community, prominent figures in attendance included Dipo Alam, D.Sc. (Cabinet Secretary of the Republic of Indonesia, 2010–2014), Dr. Rasio Ridho Sani (Deputy for Pollution and Environmental Damage Control at KLH/BPLH), and Dr. Munasprianto Ramli (Chair of ILUNI Chemistry), along with alumni representing various institutions such as Pertamina, BRIN, BNN, BAPETEN, PT Indesso Primatama, PT BASF, PT Dover Chemical, PT Petrolab Services, PT TÜV Nord Indonesia, PT Unilever, PT Paragon, and Procter & Gamble.

The Head of the Department of Chemistry at FMIPA UI, Munawar Khalil, Ph.D., presented the department’s strategic work programs on that occasion, while also launching the “Alumni Recognition” program. This program provides a platform for alumni contributions through initiatives Periodic Table of Alumni as a means of strengthening the role of alumni in the development of the department.

The series of activities continued with a lab tour, providing alumni the opportunity to reminisce about the learning facilities at FMIPA UI, as well as networking lunch which further expanded networking among alumni and members of the academic community.

After a break, the event continued with interactive sessions such as Off the Lab Record, games Family 100, an awarding and appreciation session, as well as performances by active students and video greetings from alumni across different countries, which brought the series of events to a warm close.

Overall, SILAKBAR Kimia UI 2026, which was attended by approximately 250 alumni, received a positive response from participants. The event not only served as a space for reminiscing about academic journeys at FMIPA UI, but also strengthened networks and opened up opportunities for future collaboration.

Through this event, FMIPA UI demonstrates its role as an academic institution that not only excels in education and research, but also actively fosters a strong and sustainable alumni ecosystem to support meaningful contributions to the nation.
