The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Indonesia (FMIPA UI) has once again achieved ISO (International Organization for Standardization) ISO 9001: 2015 quality management system certification. This year’s ISO certification was issued by DQS, an ISO 9001: 2015 certification body based in Germany.
Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Indonesia (FMIPA UI), Dede Djuhana Ph.D., stated that the achievement of the ISO 9001:2015 certification demonstrates FMIPA UI’s consistency in maintaining and improving quality management in business processes within the FMIPA UI Administration Center. In addition to increasing productivity, the Dean stated that this also enhances the positive image and increases stakeholder trust in FMIPA UI.
“FMIPA UI is committed to continuously implementing, optimizing quality management, and providing quality services according to international standards to stakeholders. Hopefully, with this ISO certification, we can also increase the trust of our stakeholders in FMIPA UI,” said the Dean to the FMIPA UI Public Relations team.
The Dean expressed his appreciation and gratitude to his staff and all parties who worked hard to achieve this certification. However, he cautioned them not to become complacent and to remain consistent in implementing the quality management system they had collaboratively developed.
“Let’s not be complacent. We will maintain our commitment and consistency in maintaining the system we have created so that it can be implemented sustainably,” he said.
“We also need to carry out regular monitoring,” the Dean emphasized.
Since 2015, FMIPA UI has been committed to achieving ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System certification. For the first time, FMIPA UI achieved this certification in December 2016.
Similar to previous certifications, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Indonesia (FMIPA UI) achieved ISO 9001:2015 certification this year after going through a series of processes. The start of the ISO 9001:2015 activities for FMIPA UI was marked by training. awareness quality management system on July 6, 2022 to introduce and consolidate the team’s understanding of ISO 9001:2015.
Next, the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) document is prepared for the work process or procedure that will be carried out, and adjustments to several previous SOPs by a special team.
The activity continued with conducting internal quality audits on auditees who are implementing procedures in their respective units on August 25 and 26, 2022. This was done to evaluate and examine the extent to which these units have implemented the ISO 9001:2015 quality management system. The internal quality auditors had previously undergone special training.
After all POBs have been approved by the Dean, the next stage is an external audit by Mr. Annas Sangadji as an auditor from PT. DQS Certification Indonesia in meeting room A, FMIPA UI, UI Campus, Depok, on September 1, 2022 for stage 1 and September 8, 2022 for stage 2.
Based on the external audit, FMIPA UI was recommended to re-obtain the ISO 9001: 2015 certificate, which means that FMIPA UI has met international requirements in terms of quality assurance management.
