The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Indonesia (FMIPA UI) through the Data Science Center (DSC) of the Special Work Unit for Services and Community Service of the Applied Science Institute (UKKPPM-LST), together with the Global Information and Technology Professional Certification Institute (LSP TIK Global) agreed to organize a cooperation program in the field of ICT and Data Management System. The cooperation is stated in a Joint Memorandum of Understanding signed by Eko Waludi, S.T., M.Sc., as the head of UKK LST FMIPA UI and A Irwan Fasihi, Chairman of LSP and President Director of PT LSP TIK Global, on July 17, 2024, at the FMIPA UI Multidisciplinary Research Laboratory Building, UI Campus, Depok.

In this collaboration, both parties agreed to conduct BNSP-based competency tests through the FMIPA UI Data Science Center, which is an applied science institution in the field of research and development related to data science, AI, and advanced computing.

The scope of this cooperation includes joint discussions on cooperation on competency-based training and BNSP competency tests in the fields of ICT and Data Management System, including but not limited to sharing competency and sharing capacity of the parties, preparing instructors to conduct competency-based training in accordance with their respective fields of competence, and preparing competency-based training modules in accordance with each scheme.

Eko Waludi in his speech explained that this collaboration aims to provide training that is in accordance with the competency scheme of each entity, with a focus on developing expertise in the field of information and communication technology.

“With the combined expertise of both parties, the training held is expected to provide significant benefits for participants to improve their competence in the increasingly digitalized world of work,” he said.

Prof. Alhadi Bustamam, S.Si., M.Kom., Ph.D. Head of DSC FMIPA UI said “DSC is committed to supporting the development of reliable and skilled human resources in the field of data science and computing. Through this partnership with LSP ICT Global, we hope to accelerate talents in the field of Data Analytics and Data Science who are competent and certified by BNSP. Hopefully this will be a new breakthrough that can improve Data Analytics and Data Scientists experts in the University of Indonesia in particular and bring change to the academic world, so that UI graduates are considered competent academically and also professionally.”

Meanwhile, A. Irwan Fasihi said, “We are very enthusiastic about this opportunity and we are ready to accompany DSC in conducting certified training both for internal Universitas Indonesia and accompanying when conducting training activities given to the general public. We will maintain the quality and quality as well as the good name that we maintain together to produce young workers who are competent and have skill dan attitude. Insyaallah.”

It is hoped that this cooperation will be a solid foundation for sustainable cooperation, in supporting the development of expertise in Indonesia, especially in the fields of technology and computing. Both parties hope to create a real positive impact on the progress of the national industry and economy.
