FMIPA UI Will Have a Learning Center and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory for the General Public

In an effort to welcome the Industrial Revolution 4.0, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) UI will soon build a learning center and artificial intelligence laboratory located at the Multidisciplinary Research Laboratory of FMIPA UI – PT. Pertamina (Persero), UI Depok Campus.

This was stated by Dr. Tito Latif Indra as the collaboration manager of FMIPA UI.

“This September, construction of the equipment will begin,” said Tito to the FMIPA UI public relations team, Thursday (5/9) via telephone. Whatsapp.

“Regarding the inauguration and when the laboratory will be operational, Tito said it is estimated to be completed and ready for inauguration in January 2020.

“The target is for it to be completed by January 2020 and ready for use,” he added.

This artificial intelligence learning center and laboratory is an implementation of the collaboration between UI and UMG Idealab Indonesia in the fields of education, research, and Community Service related to Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Applied Science, which was marked by the signing of an MoU by UI Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ir. Muhammad Anis, M.Met. and UMG Idealab Indonesia CEO Kiwi Aliwarga at the FMIPA UI Depok Dean’s Building on Wednesday (4/9).

“Through this collaboration, the artificial intelligence learning center and laboratory under the coordination of FMIPA UI can be used as a research facility by lecturers, and also a learning facility for students from elementary, middle, high school, and university levels.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology currently plays a crucial role in the development of future innovations. AI is believed to be able to assist humans in various ways. AI is one technology that could revolutionize human history as a whole, particularly in areas such as automation and massive data processing.
