The announcement of the results of the selection of the Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) 2024 scholarship program was released on Wednesday (20/3/2024), via the official website iisma.kemdikbud.go.id. Based on the selection results, 353 University of Indonesia (UI) students were declared to have passed and will get the opportunity to study at top universities abroad.
Of the awardees, 18 are students of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA). They have the opportunity to study abroad with various facilities from the government, including transportation and accommodation, living expenses, and health insurance.
Students who successfully pass will be sent to their respective destination countries to take part in student exchange activities for 1 semester, which will be held in the period from July 2024 to March 2025. There, they will not only have the opportunity to take part in classroom learning, but also to learn about the culture of that country.
Dean of FMIPA UI Prof. Dede Djuhana, Ph.D. congratulated and appreciated the students. The Dean emphasized that the opportunity to develop skills, and enrich experience, knowledge and the latest technology through the IISMA program is very broad. Therefore, he advised the participants to open a broad perspective, so that later they can apply the experience and knowledge gained in Indonesia.
“Congratulations to the awardees from FMIPA UI. This IISMA program is a very valuable opportunity to be used as a means to enrich the learning experience, and add skills at the best campus abroad,” said the Dean

IISMA 2024 registration previously took place in January to February 2024. The registration process took place online, through the official IISMA website. Participants have gone through the selection process four times. The four stages of the IISMA 2024 selection include administrative selection, national insight selection, interview selection, and final selection. Participants who pass the four series of selection will be declared to have passed through the announcement and decree (SK) of the organizer in March 2024.
In the last three years, the number of UI students participating in this program has continued to increase, namely 92 people in 2021, 219 people in 2022, and 363 people in 2023.
As one of the flagship programs organized by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemendikbudristek RI), IISMA is the program that is most in demand by students.
This certainly makes the IISMA program very competitive, so participants must have high readiness, academic ability, and English language skills. The IISMA 2024 program was announced since December 2023 and registration opened in January-February 2024. Meanwhile, administrative selection and other series of processes were carried out throughout February to March 2024.
