To award Tagor M. Siregar a Doctorate in Chemistry, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of the University of Indonesia (UI) held an open doctoral promotion defense today, Wednesday, June 15, 2016. The event took place in Building C of the Faculty. The dissertation was titled “Synthesis of Prenyl Resveratrol from Melinjo (Gnetum gnemon L.) Peel Isolates with Anticancer Potential Using γ-Al2O3/NaOH/Na Superbasic Catalysis.”

The defense was chaired by the Dean of the Faculty, Dr. rer. Nat. Abdul Haris, with Dr. Emil Budianto as promoter, and co-promoters Dr. Antonius Herry Cahyana and Dr. rer. nat. Widajanti Wibowo. Also present were members of the examining team, Prof. Dr. Soleh Kosela, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Hanafi, Prof. Dr. Berna Elya, Dr. Endang Saepudin, and Dr. rer.nat. Budiawan.

The chair of the session and Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Indonesia (UI), Dr. rer.nat. Abdul Haris, stated that the dissertation was presented so well that it received a Very Satisfactory graduation. Thus, Dr. Tagor M. Siregar is the 60th Doctorate in the Chemistry Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Indonesia, and the 135th Doctorate in the Faculty.
