The event began with a grand opening on September 11, 2021. It was marked by a speech by Zainuddin, the foundation administrator and head of the MIPA learning terrace team, followed by introductions and an approach between the committee and students to build a sense of comfort during the learning process.

“This series of activities is expected to help orphans and the underprivileged at the foundation to have the enthusiasm to learn and easily understand the lessons given due to the lack of learning facilities at the foundation, coupled with the pandemic, children do not receive direct learning and still do a lot of learning instead so that during online learning, electronic or other facilities are still very limited,” said Marsha.
The Saturday Teaching program took place from September 18 to December 18, 2021. The team divided the learning into two sessions: a morning session and an afternoon session. Each session was tailored to the participants’ educational level. The morning session was for elementary school students in grades 4 through 6, while the afternoon session was for junior high school students in grades 7 and 8. The subjects covered were mathematics, social studies, science, and English.
Teaching and learning activities not only explain the basic theory of the material but also incorporate the theory within the subject. Throughout the learning process, students are invited to participate in practical activities and engaging games relevant to the material being studied. This aims to ensure students gain a comprehensive understanding of the material they have learned.
In addition to the presentation of material and practice, the team also provided a session ice breaking to make the learning atmosphere more enjoyable. In the session ice breaking Participants are invited to sing, play the game of circling the sarong, clapping multiples, and tounge twister. Saturday teaching activities were closed with practice questions and closing prayers led by one of the students in turn.
This program’s implementation not only focuses on teaching and learning but also on activities that can encourage the participants’ creativity. To that end, the team held an activity called “funday.”.
During the funday, participants got creative by painting on glass, which they then turned into beautiful pots. They then used the pots to plant trees together. Furthermore, a series of group games and prize distributions were also held that day.

This activity received a positive response from the participants, they expressed their joy at the end of each lesson by writing on small pieces of paper provided by the team.
“The learning is fun and enjoyable, the teacher is also very good at teaching me,” said Ali, one of the students at the foundation.
The participants looked very enthusiastic and enthusiastic, they even had the confidence to answer questions or ask the teaching staff, and were always active in every learning activity.
“Thank you to our colleagues from UI who have dedicated their time, transferred their knowledge, and shared their joy with our children, the Kafilatur Rasul Foundation. May you receive even better rewards, so that you succeed in your studies, gain useful and blessed knowledge, and find a stable and prosperous life,” said Mr. Dedeng, a representative of the Kafilatur Rasul Foundation.
The team hopes that this activity program can encourage the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals no. 4, namely quality education.
