The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Indonesia (UI), has once again achieved a proud national-level accomplishment. Two lecturers and researchers from the Department of Chemistry, FMIPA UI, successfully received prestigious awards at the 2025 Diktisaintek Awards, organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek).
The Gold Winner Award of the Diktisaintek Research and Development Awards was received by Dr. rer. nat. Agustino Zulys, M.Sc., in the Research Downstreaming Award category, subcategory of High-Impact Non-Patent Intellectual Property (IP). This achievement reflects the success of research that is not only academically but also capable of producing innovative outputs with added value and delivering tangible impact for society and stakeholders.
Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Ivandini Tribidasari Anggraningrum, S.Si., M.Si., received the Bronze Winner award in the category of Best Senior Scientist in the STEM field. This award was granted in recognition of her sustained contributions to the advancement of science, academic leadership, and active role in strengthening the research and science education ecosystem in Indonesia.
The Best Senior Scientist in the STEM field award is determined through a comprehensive and rigorous evaluation process. The assessment focuses on academic productivity as reflected in the quality and quantity of scientific publications, innovative works, and the protection of intellectual property rights. In addition, recognition through awards, roles as keynote speakers or resource persons, and contributions to national and international academic forums are also considered important aspects. The social impact of scholarly work on society, government, and the industrial sector, as well as scientific leadership in fostering scholarly networks and supporting research development in STEM fields, are key indicators in determining the award recipients.
The Dean of FMIPA UI, Prof. Dr. Tito Latif Indra, M.Si., stated that these achievements reflect FMIPA UI’s academic culture, which upholds research excellence, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and impact-oriented outcomes. According to him, this accomplishment demonstrates FMIPA UI’s consistency in promoting the downstreaming of research outputs and strengthening the role of scientists in addressing strategic national challenges.
“This achievement serves as a motivation for us to continue delivering research and innovation that have a meaningful impact on the wider community,” he said.
