UI FMIPA Discusses Collaboration with UPM Faculty of Science

Today, Monday (July 16th), the Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Indonesia (UI), Dr.rer.nat. Abdul Haris, along with his staff (RPM Manager, Cooperation Manager, Special Staff to the Dean for International Cooperation, and Heads of Departments/Heads of Study Programs) visited the Faculty of Science, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) to discuss collaboration between the two faculties.

The Dean and staff were warmly welcomed by Prof. Dr. Mohd Basyaruddin Abdul Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Science, UPM, and his staff.

This collaboration aims to improve the competency of students and lecturers and enhance their credibility and global competitiveness.

Furthermore, this collaboration is seen as a manifestation of international relations. This was expressed by Dr.rer.nat. Abdul Haris, Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, UI.

Dr. Ivandini Tribidasari A. Manager of Research and Community Service, FMIPA UI explained that the collaborations that will be explored include joint research, guest lectures (General Lecture), international conferences, and international academic programs.

FMIPA UI Collaboration Manager Dr. Tito Latif Indra added that previously in January UPM had sent 35 of its students to FMIPA UI to carry out a community service program entitled We Volunteer Mobility Programme Mission UPM-INDONESIA 2017.

“There will likely be further joint activities in the academic and student affairs fields,” Tito added.

Regarding the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) as a manifestation of this collaboration, Tito stated that it will take place several months after this visit.

Both the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of the University of Indonesia (UI) and the Faculty of Science (UPM) hope that this positive collaboration can be realized soon
