The global ranking organization EduRank has named the Mathematics and Chemistry departments of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at Universitas Indonesia (FMIPA UI) as the best departments in Indonesia.

In addition to being named the best departments in Indonesia, the Mathematics department at FMIPA UI is also ranked 210th in Asia and 835th worldwide. Meanwhile, the Chemistry department is ranked 418th in Asia and 1143rd worldwide.

EduRank uses the Microsoft Academic database as a proxy to gather scientific publications and citations, then displays them in graphs to calculate the weight of each publication. This independent ranking institution, based on metrics, also uses the same approach as Google and other modern search engines to assess the reputation of individual websites and backlinks to universities from other sites.

Moreover, EduRank evaluates based on research output, non-academic excellence, and alumni influence. EduRank considers the profiles of alumni who contribute significantly to their country and the world through their Wikipedia pages when making its assessments.
