UI FMIPA students shine at the 2015 Pertamina National Science Olympiad grand event

Depok, November 26, 2015, at the Integrated Faculty Club Building of the University of Indonesia, the Pertamina National Science Olympiad for the 8th time once again produced proud champions in the world of science. This was proven by the achievement of several championship titles by students of the Faculty of Mathematics, University of Indonesia, in the 2015 Pertamina National Science Olympiad Winners Award Ceremony.

No half measures, two categories competed in the 2015 Pertamina National Science Olympiad, namely the Theory Category and the Science Project Category, were won by FMIPA UI students in the National Final Round of the Theory Category and the Regional Level of the Science Project Category. In the Theory Category, they were: Yudhistira Oktaviandie who won first place in the field of Biology, Jason Kristiano won first place in the field of Physics, M Iqbal Syauqi Winning second place in the Chemistry category, they previously beat 26,000 student participants from all universities in Indonesia in the Provincial Selection. Meanwhile, in the Science Project Category, the team led by Rana Bouzida dengan judul Pie-Hat (Piezoelectric Harvesting Technology) as Renewable Energy for Illumination in Railway Station, beating more than 300 Science Project teams from ASEAN countriesRana Bouzida and two members, namely Sulkhan Arrosyid and Riffal Ruchiandrean, are students of Instrumentation Physics, FMIPA UI.

By winning this title, it is hoped that it will motivate all members of the University of Indonesia to continue developing their research work so that it can be applied in life and benefit the Indonesian people.
