FMIPA UI Graduates 10 International Students at the 2025 Degree Awarding Ceremony for UI International Students

The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Indonesia (FMIPA UI) took part in the graduation celebration of international students held at the 2025 Degree Awarding Ceremony for UI International Students on Thursday (17/7), at the Makara Art Center, UI Depok Campus.

This event was organized by the UI Directorate of Educational Internationalization as a form of appreciation and recognition for international students who have completed their degrees at UI. In addition to university leaders, such as deans, vice deans, and education managers from various faculties at UI, the event was also attended by representatives from partner universities, embassies, and domestic educational institutions. The presence of these stakeholders made the event a strategic opportunity to strengthen UI’s international network and partnerships.

The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of the University of Indonesia (UI) officially released ten international students who graduated in the even semester of 2024/2025. They hail from Pakistan and Cambodia and are pursuing master’s and doctoral degrees in various study programs at the Faculty. Three graduates of the Master of Chemistry program are Atta Ullah (UI GREAT 2022), Syeda Sheeza Nadeem (UI GREAT 2023), and Sabeel Ahmed (UI GREAT 2023). Additionally, two students, Muhammad Aqif and Rizwan Khan, graduated from the Master of Physics program, both through the UI GREAT 2023 scholarship scheme.

From the Mathematics study program, there are two graduates, Muhammad Ramzan and Naveed Ullah, who are also recipients of the UI GREAT 2023 scholarship. Muhammad Junaid completed his Master’s degree in Geography, while Lyda Pav from Cambodia graduated from the Master’s program in Medical Physics through an independent scholarship supported by the IAEA. The only doctoral graduate is Abdul Basit from Pakistan, who completed his studies in the Doctoral Program in Chemistry through the UI Developing Country Partnership (KNB) scholarship program.

Dean of FMIPA UI, Prof. Dede Djuhana, Ph.D., expressed his appreciation and pride for the achievements of FMIPA UI’s international graduates.

“We are very proud to be a part of the academic journey of these international students. Their success in completing their studies at FMIPA UI not only reflects their individual hard work and dedication, but also demonstrates FMIPA UI’s commitment to providing a quality global education,” said Prof. Dede to the FMIPA UI Public Relations team.

He also expressed his hope that the graduates would be able to implement the knowledge they had acquired during their studies at FMIPA UI, to bring benefits in various fields in their home countries.

“We certainly hope that the knowledge and experience they gain at FMIPA UI can make a real contribution to society in their home countries and the global scientific community,” he said.
