Depok, August 18-19, 2017 FMIPA UI heldthe Basic and Applied Science Interdisciplinary Conference (BASIC 2017) in conjunction with the “2nd International Science and Mathematics in Academic Research Talks (2nd ISMART 2017) and “Life and Environmental Sciences Academic Forum (LEAF 2017)”.This activity, supported by the Basic Sciences Commission-Indonesian Academy of Sciences (KIPD-AIPI), is an integrated scientific meeting between disciplines (Mathematics, Physics, Geoscience, Chemistry, Biology and Environment).
Carrying the theme “Interdisciplinary basic sciences research leading to advance knowledge towards sustainability” This international scientific meeting between basic science fields was attended by researchers (lecturers, students, researchers from research institutions) from within the country and abroad, Present as Keynote Speakers Prof. Chris Margules (James Cook University, Australia Biodiversity conservation), Abidin Kaya, Ph.D. (Bursa Orhangazi University, Turkey Research interest), Prof. Dr. Daniel Murdiyarso Dr. Nicole de Voogdh (Naturalis Biodiversity Center, The Netherlands), Prof. Dr. Daniel Murdiyarso (AIPI), Prof. Dr. Sri Widiyantoro (AIPI), and Prof. Dr. Endang Sukara (AIPI).
In his remarks, the Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Indonesia (UI), Abdul Haris, expressed his hope that BASIC 2017 would serve as an interdisciplinary communication platform for academics and researchers. This would foster collaboration between researchers and institutions, a crucial step in improving the quality and quantity of research produced.
This scientific meeting fosters a critical and conducive academic atmosphere and a culture of scientific article writing. By holding this international scientific meeting, it is hoped that the articles presented will be published in scientific journals or proceedings indexed by international indexing bodies such as Scopus or Web of Sciences (WoS).
