Depok, April 29, 2026 — The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at Universitas Indonesia (FMIPA UI) has once again achieved a notable national accomplishment, with four of its lecturers selected as recipients of the 2026 Priority Research Commercialization Program funding organized by the Kementerian Pendidikan Tinggi, Sains, dan Teknologi Republik Indonesia (Kemdiktisaintek RI). This program represents one of the government’s strategic efforts to drive the transformation of research outcomes into innovations that deliver tangible impact for society, industry, and national development.
The four lecturers who received the funding have introduced a range of cross-disciplinary innovations relevant to national needs. Budiawan from the Department of Chemistry is developing a research project titled High-Nutrition Palm Oil Formulation (RPMO), which focuses on increasing the added value of a key national commodity, as part of the SINERGI Prioritas 2025 scheme that continues into its second year in 2026.
From the field of geography, Muhammad Dimyati introduced the innovation RE-NUSANTARA 2.0, an integrated system based on multi-model and multi-source approaches with site adaptation capabilities for short-term estimation and prediction of solar radiation, funded under the SINERGI Prioritas 2026 scheme.
Meanwhile, efforts to strengthen disaster mitigation systems are realized through the EWAS (Earthquake Warning Alert System) research developed by Supriyanto from the Geology and Geophysics Study Program, as a continuation of the SINERGI Prioritas 2025 scheme entering its second year in 2026.
On the other hand, contributions to the development of renewable energy are demonstrated by Triarko Nurlambang from the Department of Geography through the research Mapping Biomass Potential for Biofuel Development in Lampung Province, funded under the SINERGI Prioritas 2026 scheme.
The Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at Universitas Indonesia (FMIPA UI), Tito Latif Indra, expressed appreciation for this achievement and emphasized that it reflects the high quality of FMIPA UI’s research, which is not only academically excellent but also highly relevant to national development needs.
“We are very proud of the achievement of FMIPA UI lecturers in securing funding from the 2026 Priority Research Commercialization Program. This accomplishment demonstrates that the research being developed is able to bridge scientific knowledge with the real needs of society and industry. The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at Universitas Indonesia (FMIPA UI) will continue to strengthen an innovative, collaborative, and downstream-oriented research ecosystem so that its benefits can be widely felt,” he stated.
Furthermore, he emphasized that this achievement is the result of synergy among researchers, institutions, and supportive government policies in strengthening a nationally competitive research ecosystem with global competitiveness.
With this achievement, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at Universitas Indonesia (FMIPA UI) further strengthens its role as a center of excellence in science and innovation, actively contributing to sustainable development in Indonesia.
