ASEAN YOUTH FORUM ON BIODIVERSITY

Friday (10/04/2015) ASEAN Center of Biodiversity based in the Philippines together with Sahabat Alam and the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Indonesia (FMIPA UI) held a seminar, the ASEAN Youth Forum on Biodiversity, which aims to provide insight into biodiversity and expand the network of young generations throughout the ASEAN region to start caring about and preserving biodiversity.

The seminar which took place in the multi-purpose building of the UI MIPA Faculty was opened by Dr.re.nat. Abdul Haris as Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Indonesia, followed by remarks from Dr. Dicky Simorangkir – International Adviser / Deputy Director of Biodiversity and Climate Change Project GIZ, Adeline – Founder of Sahabat Alam and Mr. Roberto V. Olivia – Executive Director of ASEAN Center of Biodiversity (ACB).

A comprehensive presentation on biodiversity was delivered by Mr. Rolando A. Inciong – Director of ACB Communication & Public Affairs and continued with a Q&A session with FMIPA students from the University of Indonesia together with Mr. D. Filiberto A. Pollisco Jr. – Policy Specialist ACB.

Sahabat Alam also gave trees to Dr.re.nat. Abdul Haris – Dean of FMIPA UI, Dr.rer.nat Yasnan, M.Sc. – Head of Department of FMIPA UI and student representatives to be planted at the University of Indonesia.
