Jatna himself is a researcher who has contributed to the field of conservation for almost 42 years or since 1975. For Jatna’s services in the field of conservation, researchers from the IUCN announced a tribute to Jatna by including Jatna’s name in the naming of the new primate species they discovered.

He said the award was the result of his consistent work in the field of biodiversity conservation for 42 years since 1975.
