Thursday, April 2, 2015, the extended family of FMIPA UI held a Tahlilan in connection with the passing of a Physics Lecturer Dr. Muhammad Hikam, M.Sc and a Biology study program student Aksyena Ahad Dori. The Tahlilan was held at the FMIPA UI Dean’s Building and was attended by the Rector of the University of Indonesia Prof. Dr. Muhammad Anis, Dean of FMIPA UI Dr. rer nat Abdul Haris, the leadership, lecturers, education staff and students of FMIPA UI. The event was opened by reading the Yasin letter and a joint prayer addressed to the two deceased led by Ust. Abdi Kurnia, SH, MA.
The Dean of FMIPA UI in his speech apologized to the entire academic community for the two deceased and invited the audience to pray for the two deceased. Specifically regarding the death of Aksyena Ahad Dori, the Dean also invited all lecturers and students to pay more attention to the internal life of students so that similar incidents do not happen again in the future. The Dean also said that the Student Manager and the Head of the Biology Department had visited the deceased’s family in Sleman Yogyakarta. The deceased’s family has accepted the passing of their child and handed over the investigation process into the cause of death to the Indonesian Police.
The Chancellor of the University of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Anis, expressed his deep sorrow for the passing of the two deceased. In connection with the passing of Aksyena Ahad Dori, the Chancellor of UI appealed to the entire academic community to be able to act wisely and prudently in disseminating information about the cause of the deceased’s death. UI fully entrusts the resolution of this case to the Indonesian Police. The deceased was found dead on Thursday, April 26, 2015 at Lake Salam UI.
Ust. Abdi Kurnia, SH, MA in his taujih conveyed that the event of death can be used as a lesson for all of us in living life and always trying to be a good person. Humans must be strangers when living in this world with the intention of always being careful in taking every step they take. As a conclusion, Ust. Abdi Kurnia, SH, MA invited the audience to pray together again, pray and ask for protection from Allah SWT.
