UI FMIPA Students Receive AAUI Insurance Science Scholarships

Reri Nandar Munazat, a student of the Actuarial Science study program, FMIPA UI 2018, successfully received a scholarship Insurance Science Scholarship Awarded by the Indonesian General Insurance Association (AAUI) in collaboration with PT. Maskapai Reasuransi Indonesia, Tbk (MAREIN). The scholarships were awarded virtually to recipients on Friday, August 13, 2021.

Reri, along with Cherry, a student majoring in actuarial science at the Bogor Agricultural University, passed the selection process. Competition for this scholarship was quite intense, with over eighty students from universities across Indonesia registering as potential recipients.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to be one of the recipients of this scholarship, especially since the selection process was quite challenging,” said Reri.

“I also hope to maintain my academic performance throughout the remainder of my studies and eventually secure the opportunity to do an internship at a company to hone my skills as a reliable actuary in the insurance industry,” he continued.

MAREIN Finance Director, Aloysia Dwi Ana Nurhandayani, also appreciated the success of the two students who received scholarships.

“Congratulations. This is a source of pride for you and your families, and of course, for your alma mater. I hope you can complete your studies soon and apply your actuarial knowledge to the insurance industry,” said Aloysia.

Echoing Aloysia, AAUI Executive Director Dody Dalimunthe also hopes that the two students who received this scholarship can make the best use of it.

“We hope that students who receive scholarships can make the best use of them and can pursue careers in the general insurance industry,” said Dody, as quoted from the official Instagram social media page. AAUI.

Insurance Science Scholarship is a scholarship program intended for undergraduate students majoring in Actuarial Science (or specialization), where recipients are entitled to benefits in the form of tuition fees per semester (maximum IDR 15 million), tuition allowance of IDR 1 million, and fees for taking the PAI (Indonesian Actuarial Association) exam required by a prospective actuary to obtain certification.

The program is a collaboration between AAUI member companies, and students who wish to receive the scholarship must meet several established requirements. The first phase of the Insurance Science Scholarship is supported by two AAUI member companies: PT AIG Insurance Indonesia and PT Reasuransi Maipark Indonesia. Registration for the program was open from January 4 to January 31, 2021.
