Eight UI Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Lecturers Selected as Promoters for the Batch VII PMDSU Scholarship, Ready to Produce Qualified Young Doctors

Eight lecturers from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Indonesia (FMIPA UI) were selected as promoters of the Masters to Doctoral Education program for Outstanding Graduates (PMDSU) batch VII scholarship for the 2023 fiscal year.

This was officially announced on the PMDSU website, and a letter from the Director of Resources, Directorate General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia, Number: 0190/E4/DT.04.02/2023, dated January 15, 2023.

The eight lecturers selected as promoters of the PMDSU Batch VII scholarship are Prof. Dr. rer.nat. Budiawan (Department of Chemistry), Prof. Dr. Drs. Terry Mart. (Department of Physics), Prof. Dr. Azwar Manaf, M.Met. (Department of Physics), Prof. Dr. Drs. Anto Sulaksono, M.Si. (Department of Physics), Prof. Dr. Vivi Fauzia, S.Si., M.Si. (Department of Physics), Muhammad Aziz Majidi, S.Si., M.Si., Ph.D. (Department of Physics), Dr. Budhy Kurniawan R., M.Si., (Department of Physics), and Anom Bowolaksono, Ph.D. (Department of Biology).

“Alhamdulillah, and congratulations to the lecturers of FMIPA UI who were trusted by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology as promoters of the PMDSU program,” said Dede Djuhana, Ph.D., Dean of FMIPA UI to the FMIPA UI public relations team.

The Dean hopes that the selected lecturers can carry out their duties as well as possible as competent supervisors so that they can produce quality young doctors.

“Based on the research track record and competence of these promoters, we are ready to produce high-quality young doctors. Therefore, we ask the promoters to carry out their duties to the best of their ability,” he said.

PMDSU, quoted from the page https://www.pmdsu.id/ is a scholarship program for outstanding graduates to accelerate their education to become doctoral graduates at a young age.

Outstanding graduates will be trained to become doctors within four years in a healthy academic atmosphere and guided by reliable promoters, based on both research and educational track records.

PMDSU aims to educate superior graduates through Masters to Doctoral education involving lecturers as researchers/research groups with an international research track record.

In the long term, this program can build the capacity of postgraduate education institutions at domestic universities so that they have high competitiveness at the national and international levels.

The output of PMDSU student research is expected to contribute to producing a number of internationally reputable publications and patents and innovations that can lead to appropriate technology needed by the domestic industry.
