To welcome new postgraduate students, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of the University of Indonesia (UI) held an introduction to the academic system.

On Monday (14/8), the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Indonesia (FMIPA UI) held an Introduction to the Faculty Academic System (PSAF) for the Postgraduate Program for the 2023/2024 Academic Year, in the Hall of the Multidisciplinary Research Laboratory Building of FMIPA UI – PT Pertamina, UI Campus, Depok, to welcome new students at that level of education. A total of 171 new students participated in this activity, consisting of 134 master’s students and 37 doctoral students.

The event was held with the aim of providing a comprehensive overview of the academic system and facilities available to students at UI, particularly in the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA). This information was provided to students regarding the academic system in place at FMIPA UI, so that they can effectively carry out their learning and research activities.

Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Budiawan, Vice Dean for Education, Research, and Student Affairs, opened the event. In his remarks, he stated, “As part of the University of Indonesia, FMIPA UI encourages its students to contribute to the university’s progress with a vision and mission aligned with UI’s, so that FMIPA UI graduates are able to compete globally.”

“Our hope is that all of you in this postgraduate program will contribute to improving the achievements of FMIPA UI in accordance with the vision and mission of FMIPA and UI,” continued Prof. Budiawan.

On the same occasion, he also introduced his staff to the new students, starting from the Vice Dean for Resources, Ventures, and General Administration, Managers, Head of the Academic Quality Assurance Unit, to the Head of the Postgraduate Study Program at FMIPA UI.

Through this activity, new students were given an introduction to the academic portals in the UI environment that can be accessed to support student education and research, namely the Next Generation Academic Information System (SIAK NG), E-learning Management System (EMAS), UI Webmail, UI Research Portal, various Microsoft applications, and access to online library services by Adhi Harmoko Saputro, Ph.D (Lecturer in the Department of Physics).

In addition, students are also provided with information related to academic ethics & integrity by Prof. Dr. Vivi Fauzia (Professor of the Physics Department), as well as curriculum and academics by Dr. Denny Riama Silaban, M.Kom. (Head of the Academic Quality Assurance Unit).

Also present at this event were Dr. Tito Latif Indra, M.Si. (Vice Dean for Resources, Ventures, and General Administration), Managers, and Heads of Postgraduate Study Programs at FMIPA UI.
