The 2023 National Mathematics and Natural Sciences Olympiad for Higher Education (ONMIPA-PT) has entered the regional selection stage. Twenty participants from across faculties at the University of Indonesia (UI) who passed the previous stage, the 2023 ONMIPA-PT UI selection, will participate in this regional selection stage on May 23-24, 2023.

The participants are the 5 (five) best students from each of the fields of study being competed in, namely Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

The regional selection stage of ONMIPA-PT 2023 for UI participants was conducted online from the Multidisciplinary Research Laboratory Building of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) UI – PT Pertamina, UI Campus, Depok.

Previously, to prepare participants for the regional selection stage, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of the University of Indonesia (UI) provided support in the form of intensive mentoring by internal lecturers who are also experts in the selected fields. The results of this regional selection stage will be announced on June 5, 2023, through the Indonesian Talent Development Center website.

Participants who pass the regional selection stage will then proceed to the final round at the national level, which will be held face-to-face at the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) on June 13-17, 2023.

The national competition will select the top 20 students in each field, with the following details: 3 gold medalists, 5 silver medalists, 7 bronze medalists, and 5 honorable mentions.

ONMIPA-PT is a talent competition for higher education held by the Indonesian Talent Development Center (BPTI), the National Achievement Center of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia, as a forum to develop student creativity and innovation in the fields of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. The 2023 National Olympiad for Mathematics and Natural Sciences for Higher Education (ONMIPA-PT) will be held online at the regional level and offline at the national level.
