SAPA PASCA Becomes a Dialogue Forum Between Faculty and Postgraduate Students of FMIPA UI to Improve Academic Quality

The event was held on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at the Prof. Dr. Ir. Soemantri Brodjonegoro Hall, FMIPA UI Campus, Depok.

SAPA PASCA served as a momentum to build constructive two-way communication while also strengthening a culture of academic quality within FMIPA UI. This activity was made possible through collaboration between UPMA, the Education Unit, and the Student Achievement Development and Ecosystem Unit.

The Head of UPMA FMIPA UI, Januar Widakdo, S.Si., M.Sc., Ph.D., stated that SAPA PASCA is designed as a strategic agenda that will be held regularly every semester.

“This activity is not only a means of disseminating academic policies, but also a platform for students to convey their aspirations, ideas, and constructive feedback to improve the quality of education,” he said.

In the event, one of the main focuses highlighted was the importance of active student participation in the learning evaluation system, such as Student Evaluation of Teaching (EDOM) and Semester Internal Evaluation (EVISEM).

Students are expected to complete the evaluations objectively and comprehensively, including providing qualitative feedback. The results of these evaluations serve as a basis for improving the quality of lecturers and study programs, as well as supporting accreditation requirements.

In addition, the presentation session from the Student Achievement Development and Ecosystem Unit, delivered by Dr. Yulia Mariana Tesa Ayudia Putri, S.Si., M.Si., introduced various services and strategic programs for postgraduate students.

These programs include scholarship services, funding support for competitions and international (outbound) programs, as well as strengthening the achievement ecosystem through initiatives such as the FMIPA Competition Hub, competition bootcamps, and workshops on academic writing and artificial intelligence (AI) literacy.

SAPA PASCA also featured an interactive open forum session. Several strategic issues emerged during the discussion, ranging from the technical implementation of EDOM in specialized courses, the need for a study progress monitoring system particularly for doctoral (S3) students, to the development of a more integrated and digital academic administration system.

Student feedback regarding the use of LaTeX-based publication templates, transparency in assessment rubrics, and flexibility in academic policies also received attention from the faculty.

UPMA menyampaikan bahwa sejumlah pengembangan sistem, termasuk pemantauan progres studi dan integrasi layanan digital, saat ini tengah disusun dan akan terus ditingkatkan secara bertahap.

The discussion also highlighted the importance of establishing the FMIPA UI Postgraduate Association as a more structured platform to accommodate student aspirations, while also encouraging research collaboration and cross-study program academic activities.

Through the inaugural SAPA PASCA event, FMIPA UI reaffirms its commitment to building a postgraduate education ecosystem that is adaptive, participatory, and oriented toward continuous quality improvement.

In the future, this activity is expected not only to serve as a communication forum, but also as a catalyst in strengthening synergy between students and the faculty in order to realize excellent and impactful higher education.
